FAQ
Questions, answered honestly
SkyRealm is a small private cloud that we run for you. You get an account for files, email, documents, passwords and photos, kept away from the big tech platforms.
Files, email, documents, code hosting, passwords, photos, video calls, private chat and Campfire chat rooms. A VPN, Plane project boards, media streaming, automated builds and a messenger are coming next. Each one is linked from the Services section above.
Probably, if you want a private spot that isn't tied to a big platform. People use it to park files and code, keep their mail and photos off ad-driven services, or keep things out of reach of automated takedowns and account bans. We're small, so don't make this the only copy of anything important.
Yes, for now. There is no charge while SkyRealm stays small. If it gets busy or abused, we may limit sign-ups or introduce pricing, and we'll tell you first.
Not yet. Keep a copy of anything you can't afford to lose. We plan to offer backups as a paid option later.
You, and anyone you share it with. As with any hosted service, we can technically reach what is stored on our servers. We don't read, scan or sell your data. For anything sensitive, encrypt it before uploading.
On hardware we run ourselves, set up so nothing on our network is open to the internet.
Accounts are by invitation for now. Send a request in the form below and we'll add people in small groups.
Anything illegal, plus spam and abuse. Accounts that break this are removed.
